How We Built a Skilled-Trades Marketplace Matching Homeowners to 1,200+ Verified Providers
Amaya Industries needed homeowners to trust a stranger into their home, and the process ran on phone calls, unvetted directories, and hoping the person who arrived was certified. We built a marketplace on both platforms: provider verification, matching that responds in under 1.2 seconds, scheduling that flexes by trade, and payments both sides trust. Over 1,200 verified providers, bookings 55% faster, 99% completing. Calling around became a confirmed job in a few taps.
Amaya Industries is a US-based skilled-trades marketplace that connects homeowners with certified electricians, carpenters, painters, and plumbers. It is built to carry the full home-service job from the first search all the way to paid completion: finding a vetted provider, matching on real availability, scheduling the visit, and handling the payment, all in one place.
They wanted a unified platform where a homeowner could book, schedule, and manage home services without the friction of calling around or trusting an unvetted stranger.
Hiring a tradesperson has always been a gamble spread across too many places. A homeowner searches one platform, checks reviews on another, calls a few numbers, and still can’t be sure the person arriving is certified or reliable. Service quality was inconsistent because discovery was inconsistent, and the whole process was slow enough that people often put off jobs they needed done.
Trust was the hardest part to engineer. A marketplace booking a stranger into someone’s home has to guarantee that the stranger is certified and safe, which means a robust vetting and rating system. Without that in place, no amount of speed or convenience would matter.
Availability was more complicated than a single calendar. Electricians, carpenters, painters, and plumbers each work differently, so the platform needed booking logic and scheduling that flexed by service category. Payments had to be trusted on both sides at once: the customer paying and the provider getting paid both need to believe the transaction is fast and secure every time.
We started from the moment that actually matters to a homeowner: deciding to trust a provider enough to book them. Discovery, verification, matching, scheduling, and payment are one decision, and if any step breaks trust, the whole booking stalls.
We worked through both sides of the marketplace with the Amaya team: what a homeowner needs to find and trust a provider quickly, and what a provider needs to be verified, set real availability, and get paid. The dual-platform design meant neither side was an afterthought.
We built a single marketplace covering electricians, carpenters, painters, and plumbers, so a homeowner finds every trade in one app. Discovery that used to be scattered and slow now happens in one place, with vetted providers on the other side of it.
We built a matching engine that pairs homeowners with available providers in real time, responding in under 1.2 seconds. Instead of calling around and waiting for callbacks, a user gets matched to someone who is actually free, right when they book.
We built a payment layer that both customers and providers can trust, handling transactions quickly and securely across every service category.
We built the interface for zero confusion across every user type, from a first-time homeowner to a busy provider. Tested across more than 40 service flows and thousands of in-app interactions, the journeys stay clean whatever trade or task a user is booking.
Real-time matching was core infrastructure from the start. The whole platform was engineered around a matching engine that responds in under 1.2 seconds, because in a marketplace a slow match feels like no match, and a homeowner who waits goes back to calling around.
We built native across iOS and Android with a shared backend, so the homeowner and provider experiences ran as a coherent dual platform. For a marketplace where both sides have to trust the same system, that shared foundation kept behavior consistent no matter who opened the app.
We validated hard before launch, testing across more than 40 service flows and 5,000-plus in-app interactions so the platform went live at 99% uptime with near-instant confirmations.
The platform went live managing more than 1,200 verified providers across the USA, cutting average booking time by 55% and completing 99% of the bookings it starts. Homeowners now find, match with, schedule, and pay a certified tradesperson in one app.
Real-time matching responds in under 1.2 seconds, turning what used to be a wait for callbacks into a booking confirmed on the spot. The platform was built to scale: more providers, more trades, and more markets extend the same foundation from here.
"AppVerticals helped us build a service marketplace with real-time matching, secure payments, and a frictionless user flow. The platform now handles thousands of daily requests without performance issues. They understand marketplace tech better than anyone we've worked with."
We have engineered both at scale.
